ScoutFit, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Slay mobile application ("App"), a social fashion platform that provides AI-generated personalized fashion recommendations, virtual photoshoots, and lightweight social networking features targeted at college students. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the App. By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the App. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, and we will notify you of any material changes via email or in-app notification.

Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us, information we collect automatically, and information from third-party sources. The types of information we collect include personal information (data that identifies or relates to you as an individual) and non-personal information.

Information You Provide Directly

• Account and Profile Information: When you sign up or create a profile, we collect your email address, weight, height, a selfie (photo), preferred fashion styles (e.g., casual, streetwear), college name, class year, and optionally your dorm or residence hall.
• Search and Interaction Data: Your search queries in the Direct Product Search feature, likes, skips, views (including view duration), comments on photoshoots, and items added to your shopping cart.
• Payment Information: When you make purchases through the App, we collect billing and shipping details via our payment processor, Stripe. This may include credit/debit card details (e.g., card number, expiration date, CVV) or bank account information for ACH payments. We do not store full card numbers, CVVs, or bank account details ourselves; these are tokenized and handled securely by Stripe.
• Other User-Provided Data: Any additional information you provide, such as updates to your profile, shipping addresses, or communications via the help page's live chat.

Information We Collect Automatically

• Device and Usage Information: We collect device information such as IP address, device ID, device type, operating system, and app version. We also collect app usage patterns, including session duration, features accessed, view durations on photoshoots, likes/skips, and other analytics data to improve recommendations and app performance.
• Generated Content: AI-generated photoshoots based on your selfie and preferences are created and stored in the App.

We do not collect audio, video (beyond the selfie photo), or other media. We do not collect health-related data beyond weight and height, which are used solely for accurate AI-generated photoshoots. Location data is not collected beyond the dorm/college information you provide (no geolocation from IP or device).

Information from Third Parties

We may receive information from third-party services, such as affiliate partners for purchase confirmations or SERP API for product data (though this does not involve your personal data). Payment processors like Stripe provide transaction status (e.g., success/failure) but not full financial details.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To Provide and Personalize the App's Features: Your email, selfie, weight, height, fashion styles, college details, and interactions (e.g., likes, skips, view durations) are used to generate AI photoshoots, provide personalized recommendations via our recommendation system (including user embeddings), facilitate friend matching based on college, dorm, class year, and style similarities, and enable social sharing of liked photoshoots.
• For E-Commerce and Transactions: Search queries, cart items, and payment details are used to process orders, handle shipping, and complete purchases across brands with a one-click order feature. We add a 3% fee for card payments and 1% for ACH on top of brand prices.
• For Analytics and Improvements: Device info, usage patterns, and interaction data (not anonymized) are used to refine our recommendation algorithms (e.g., Two-Tower Model), track engagement, and enhance the App's performance.
• For Communications: Your email is used for transactional purposes (e.g., order confirmations, notifications for likes/comments) and App updates. We do not use data for external marketing or targeted ads.
• For Friend Discovery and Social Features: Profile data (e.g., college, styles) is used server-side to algorithmically match friends and display liked photoshoots, without involving sensitive categories or inferred data like geolocation.
• For AI Processing: Your selfie is stored long-term and used to generate virtual photoshoots. It is not used to train external AI models but may be processed via our internal AI systems hosted on virtual machines.
• For Legal and Compliance: To comply with legal obligations, respond to court orders, or protect our rights, users, or others.

We do not use your data for research, aggregated insights, or selling to third parties (even anonymized). We do not use data for automated decision-making that produces legal effects or similarly significant impacts.

Sharing Your Information

We share your information in limited circumstances:

• With Service Providers: We share data with third-party vendors that help us operate the App, such as Pinecone for storing and retrieving user embeddings for recommendations, Stripe for payment processing (tokenized financial data), cloud providers (e.g., AWS or similar) for hosting in the US, including AI hosting on virtual machines, and SERP API for product scraping (no user data shared). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.
• With Friends in the App: When you like a photoshoot, it becomes visible to your friends, including the AI-generated image (based on your selfie). Friends do not see personal details like weight, height, or other private info—only usernames, comments, and public interactions.
• For Legal Reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a court order, subpoena, or to law enforcement. We will notify you where possible unless prohibited.
• In Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred, with notice to you.

We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Affiliate partners receive only anonymized referral info for purchases, not your personal data.

Data Storage and Security

Your information is stored on secure servers located in the United States. We implement industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, firewalls, and regular security audits to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities within 72 hours of becoming aware, as required by applicable laws (e.g., CCPA timelines), and take steps to mitigate harm.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the App's services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Policy. For example:

• Selfies and profile data are stored until you delete your account.
• Interaction data (likes, views) is retained to maintain recommendations.
• Payment transaction records are kept for 7 years for legal and accounting purposes.
• Logs and analytics data are retained for up to 2 years.

Upon account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Your Privacy Rights

You have certain rights regarding your personal information:

• Access and Correction: You can access and update your profile information via the Settings page.
• Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and data by contacting us at info@try-slay.com. We will process valid requests within 30 days.
• Data Export: You can request a copy of your data in a portable format.
• Revoke Consent: Where processing is based on consent (e.g., for certain communications), you can withdraw it via Settings or by contacting us.

Note: There are currently no options to opt out of recommendations, friend suggestions, or AI data use, as these are core to the App. You cannot make your profile fully private or hide from friend suggestions at this time.

For California residents (under CCPA/CPRA): You have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sales/sharing (though we do not sell data). We comply with CCPA at a startup level.

For EU/UK users (under GDPR): We process data based on consent, contract performance, or legitimate interests. You have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability. Contact us to exercise these. We do not have a designated Data Protection Officer but handle inquiries via info@try-slay.com.

In addition, for EU/UK users:

• Right to object (Article 21): To processing based on legitimate interests (e.g., recommendations) or direct marketing.
• Right to data portability (Article 20): Receive/transfer data in machine-readable format.
• Right to withdraw consent (Article 7): Where consent-based (e.g., non-essential communications) – via Settings or email; does not affect prior processing.

Requests are free and responded to within one month (extendable). Contact us at info@try-slay.com. Note: Core features (e.g., AI/recommendations) rely on legitimate interests, so objection may limit functionality but not withdraw consent (as it's not the basis). We cannot offer opt-outs for these without impacting App use.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your EU/UK Member State (e.g., via edpb.europa.eu).

Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users who are 13 years of age or older. It is targeted at college students (typically 18 years and older) and is not directed at children under 13. By using the App, you represent that you are at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information without parental consent, we will delete it promptly. There is no age verification process, but the App does not contain adult content. If you are under 13, you are not permitted to use the App. If you are under 18, please use the App with parental supervision. We comply with COPPA and similar laws for any incidental minor users.

The App is for users 13+ (targeted at 18+ college students). We do not knowingly process data from under-13s. For under-16s in certain contexts (e.g., if consent-based), parental consent may be required; contact us if applicable.

International Users

If you are outside the US, your data will be transferred to and stored in the US. We take steps to ensure adequate protections, such as standard contractual clauses where required. For GDPR compliance, we process data lawfully and provide rights as noted above. Contact us for more details on international transfers.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes via email using the address associated with your account. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
